NEWS: Wu Lyf Announce Headline Tour

The once elusive Mancunian four-piece, Wu Lyf, have today unveiled their biggest headline tour to date. 2012 will see the group play to crowds across Europe and the UK, then hopping over the pond in April to tackle the USA. As part of the three month excursion, a homecoming show at Manchester’s opulent HMV Ritz is planned for March 15th.

Wu Lyf garnered media attention by being as secretive as possible in a digital age where things are available at the click of a button. Obsure photographs circulated, bandana’s would cover faces.  Interviews with national magazines were refused. Sold out gigs at which label bosses were not allowed to attend added to the mystique. Meanwhile the band were hermetically hidden away in a disused Ancoats church recording their debut album.

The resulting Go Tell Fire To The Mountain was worth the wait. Refusing to play by industry rules, they self-released on LYF Recordings and have since been named one of the most exciting acts in the world by Q Magazine. The album is a Krautrock success, retaining within its structure a church organ the natural reverb of the building it was recorded in.

Manchester’s HMV Ritz holds 1,500, but this gig is sure to sell-out quickly. Tickets go on-sale Friday 16th December.
