TNA fanatics, listen up! You probably already knew that come January, the 2014 Maximum Impact IV Tour will come battling its way through our neck of the woods however this past weekend saw a slew of exciting announcements that are guaranteed to get you pumped. On January 31st, Manchester’s Phones4U Arena will host the first ever Pay-Per-View TNA event to take place outside of the US in the company’s 1 1 year history. This not-to-be-missed show will see a handful of the world’s greatest wrestlers fight it out to bag the British Empire Cup, the winner of which will have to defend their prize each year during future TNA UK tours.
However winning this gauntlet won’t be easy. Eight of the world’s most formidable wrestlers will have to go through a one-night-only, gruelling knock-out tournament which won’t be broadcast on non pay-per-view until later in 2014. While most UK TNA tours usually boast at least one live filming, this very special Manchester show will mark the first non-US based pay-per-view event ever, making it an unmissable show for die hard fans.
As if that wasn’t enough, the company also dropped some exciting wrestling names who will be joining the already announced TNA rosta for the 2014 tour. Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle, TNA British Bootcamp Winner Rockstar Spud, Brooke and OBD will join the likes of Bully Ray, Magnus, James Storm and Gunner when the show arrives in Manchester in three months time.
“I absolutely love coming to the UK, as does everyone on the TNA IMPACT WRESTLING roster, so I am delighted to be returning in 2014,” says Angle. “The UK fans have been begging us to hold a PPV over there for years, so I can’t wait to tape TWO of them and make another piece of British wrestling history.”
