The recently reformed Ben Folds Five will play Manchester Apollo in November. This show comes as part of an eight-date UK tour which was announced late last month. The trio, consisting of frontman Ben Folds, bass and synth player Robert Sledge and drummer Darren Jessee, reformed in early 2012 and quickly revealed plans to head into the studio. Their as-yet-untitled new album is scheduled for release in August and will be the band’s first collection of new material since 1999’s The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner.

Despite playing a handful of shows together between 2008 and 2011, this will be the first time Ben Folds Five have toured together in thirteen years. A show at the O2 Academy in Leeds is also scheduled. Full tour dates can be found after the jump along with a taster of what their new album has to offer.

O2 Academy Bristol (November 23)
Nottingham Rock City (24)
Dublin Vicar Street (26)
O2 Apollo Manchester (29)
O2 Academy Glasgow (30)
O2 Academy Leeds (December 1)
