NEWS: Yuck to play John Peel Stage at Glastonbury 2011

Northern Noise recently caught up with East London band Yuck before their sold out show at Manchester’s Night and Day Café.  Despite having a relentless tour schedule ahead of them, during our chat the four-piece spilled the beans on which festivals they will be making an appearing at this summer.  “The only ones I knew were this one in Norway…” explains guitarist and singer Max Bloom referring to Pukkelpop Festival, “then Pitchfork in Chicago and then Primavera in Spain

“But then Mari (Doi, the band’s bassist) was like, ‘we’re playing Glastonbury’” continues Bloom.  Mariko then went on to mention that the band is scheduled to play the John Peel stage at this year’s iconic festival.   So there you go, one more un-missable gig to put in your Glastonbury diaries. Keep an eye out for our live review of Yuck at Manchester’s Night and Day Café along with the full interview, both of which are coming soon.
