Events: Thirsty Scholar and Manchester bands raise money for charity

Have a good time for a good cause with this special gig at Manchester’s Thirsty Scholar pub, set up to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care.  So far, four of Manchester’s finest acts have been confirmed to play at the event, including The Bora, Old House Playground, Freedom of the City and DJ Wieslaw.

Marie Curie Cancer Care was set up in 1948 as an organisation dedicated to providing help for cancer patients as well as spreading awareness about the symptoms and available treatments to the general public.  Over the years, the charity has held many varied fundraising events from swimathons to carol singing parties, all raising cash for a good cause.

The gig kicks off at 7.30pm on Monday 28th February and continues till late, so drop by the Thirsty Scholar fundraiser for what promises to be a night of great entertainment.  For more information about the venue and how to find it, click here.
