NEWS: Blink 182 to play intimate Manchester gig

Blink-182

US pop-punk giants Blink 182 have announced plans to play an intimate club date at Manchester O2 Apollo on July 24th. The band has also revealed that they’ll do the same thing in London, scheduling a one-off close-quarters show a day later at the O2 Academy Brixton. The band, consisting of guitarist Tom Delonge, bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker are due to arrive in the UK early next month to kick off their delayed UK tour supporting their latest album Neighborhoods.

The trio were originally set to start their European tour in July 2011 but were forced to reschedule in order to give them more time to finish and release their sixth studio album. As a result, Blink 182 will now arrive at the MEN Arena in three weeks time on June 15th. Perhaps these intimate shows are the band’s way of saying thank you to UK fans for their patience.

“We’re super excited to be doing a couple of smaller club shows at the end of our European run,” says Travis Barker, “It’s been a while since we’ve done shows in the UK like this and we think it will be awesome for our fans and for us too.” Tickets for both shows go sale at 9.30am on Friday 25 May and are priced £32.50 (Manchester) and £35 (London).
