Food: Honest Burgers to host pay-what-you-like-day

All money raised will go to local charity Two Brews, which helps the homeless in Manchester and Salford

According to Honest Burgers, Manchester is the UK’s most honest city – and to celebrate, they’re launching a pay-what-you-feel food day and giving you the chance to bag some bargain grub.

The popular burger chain – which has restaurants up and down the UK – recently conducted a poll amongst their audience asking them which city they thought was the most honest – and Manchester came out on top. Now, their team are inviting us to prove our inherently generous nature by hosting a pay-what-you-feel day on Monday February 21, where hungry punters will be able to enjoy food and drink at a price tag of their choosing.

Available between 11.30am and 4.30pm, all money generated from this foodie-free-for-all will be donated directly to Two Brews, the local charity which helps homeless people across Manchester and Salford.

As if the chance to get some cheap eats while helping those in need wasn’t enough to tempt you down to Honest Burger’s Bridge Street venue, their in-house Head Chef Kris Coulton has even whipped up a brand new burger for you to sink your teeth into during your trip.

The Wellington features the restaurant’s classic Honest beef patty, smoked bacon, cheddar, a homemade béarnaise butter, crispy gluten-free pastry straws, bacon gravy, mushroom duxelles, baby spinach and pickles. It’s a dish that’s been born right here in Manchester – but will go on to feature in all of Honest Burger’s restaurant’s nationwide.
