Essential Playlist: Slam Dunk Festival Leeds 2019

Slam Dunk Festival Leeds has been drawing in audiences for years and this year will be no different. On 25th May the festival welcomes bands and fans alike to Temple Newsam Park in Leeds for a day of rocking, rolling and freedom. With performances from the likes of All Time Low, Pain White T’s and Bullet For My Valentine there’s no excuse not to get a ticket! To get you in the mood we thought we’d put together a Spotify playlist to capture the essence of Slam Dunk Festival 2019:

Plain White T’s – “Hey There Delilah”

Not only are we kicking this off with a classic that everybody knows, this song captures the atmosphere and warm sensation of a festival, being with your best friends seeing bands you love. What could be better?

All Time Low – “Weightless”

A classic All Time Low had to be included in this playlist. Known and loved by many, their catchy hit “Weightless” is a staple in most playlists within the genre. Keep and ear out for this one at the festival!

Waterparks – “Blonde”

Unlike Waterparks’ more well known “Stupid For You”, “Blonde” is a more raw exhibit of their talent but also anchors them as an emerging pop-punk phenomenon. Influences such as Fall Out Boy and All Time Low come through in their music, making them certain to appeal to fans of 90’s-2000’s pop-punk.

AS IT IS – “Hey Rachel”

Fronted by ex-Internet star Patty Walters, AS IT IS cement themselves in the Slam Dunk line-up with song after song as catchy and on-brand as this one. Look out for more to come from this band of stars.

Hellogoodbye – “When We First Met”

A modern, upbeat take on a folk sound, Hellogoodbye proves that Slam Dunk has so much to offer in terms of different sounds and artists. A wonderful listen and great introduction to their music.

Milk Teeth – “Owning Your Okayness”

Female-led band Milk Teeth come at Slam Dunk with full force this year, “Owning Your Okayness” being their most popular single. It packs a punch, comes with that familiar pop-punk sound and is a power tune you can absolutely let loose to – watch out for Milk Teeth at this year’s fest.

Grandson – “Blood // Water”

Alternative artist Grandson, AKA Jordan Benjamin, provides a melancholy take on pop-punk with “Blood // Water”. Grandson will be gracing the Key Club stage at Slam Dunk 2019 with his repertoire – don’t miss it!

Pagan – “Death Before Disco”

With a more classic rock sound than others at the festival, Pagan bring you the massive “Death Before Disco” which will have you head banging ‘til the cows come home. Make sure to look out for them for an injection of uninterrupted rock this year!

Real Friends – “I’ve Given Up on You”

Energetic pop-punkers Real Friends slow down the playlist with this emotional track. Real Friends remind us that Slam Dunk is not all about mosh pits – just a bit.

The Get Up Kids – “Satellite”

To finish, this half acoustic masterpiece by The Get Up Kids provides a happy medium between the usual Slam Dunk punk style and the raw sounds of acoustic rock. What could be better to get you excited for the 2019 festival?
